Abstract: A reverse phase-liquid chromatographic method with UV detection at 280 nm is described for simultaneous determination of ceftriaxone sodium and vancomycin hydrochloride. Chromatographic separation of the two drugs was achieved on a Betasil C-1 column using a mobile phase consisting of a binary mixture of acetonitrile and triethylamine buffer adjusted to pH 3.5 ± 0.1 with orthophosphoric acid in a ratio of 20:80. The liquid chromatographic method developed offers symmetric peak shape, good resolution, and reaso… Show more

“…The determination of vancomycin is possible in different types of biological fluids. Most published methods are based on the analysis of vancomycin in human or animal serum , plasma , and urine samples . However, LC methods also enable the measurement of vancomycin in the cerebrospinal fluid bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid , artificial perfusion fluid, lung tissue samples , tissues, bone samples and vitreous and aqueous humor .…”

“…The literature describes some methods for the analysis of ceftriaxone sodium such as bioassay [9], HPLC [1014], fluorimetry [15, 16], titrimetry [17], spectrophotometry [1822], and micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography [23–25]. …”
