Adsorptive Desulfurization of Iraqi Heavy Naphtha Using Different Metals over Nano Y Zeolite on Carbon Nanotube

Abstract: The present research was conducted to reduce the sulfur content of Iraqi heavy naphtha by adsorption using different metals oxides over Y-Zeolite. The Y-Zeolite was synthesized by a sol-gel technique. The average size of zeolite was 92.39 nm, surface area 558 m 2 /g, and pore volume 0.231 cm 3 /g. The metals of nickel, zinc, and copper were dispersed by an impregnation method to prepare Ni/HY, Zn/HY, Cu/HY, and Ni + Zn /HY catalysts for desulfurization. The adsorptive desulfurization was carried out in a batch… Show more

“…The profile of isotherm provides information about the stability of the interaction and on adsorption convergence of molecules. Some of these adsorption isotherms may be characterized in many mathematical forms which are based on the streamlined physical behavior of adsorption, whereas the others are empirical and correlated experimental results [21], [22]. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm were verified for batch results in which the Langmuir and Freundlich models are used to explain adsorption for equilibrium.…”

“…9C, by increasing the catalyst dosage from 0.02 to 0.04 g, the DBT conversion was improved. With increasing catalyst dosage after 0.04 g, the DBT removal was decreased due to catalyst aggregation [19,20].…”

“…Using a variety of procedures, including hydrodesulfurization 7,8 . Oxidative desulfurization, bio-desulfurization 9 , deep eutectic solvent extraction, and adsorptive desulfurization 10 , desulfurization processes have been carefully studied 11 . Among the methods researched, oxidative desulfurization procedures are regarded as one of the most promising ways for desulfurization because of properties such as ease of processing and high desulfurization effectiveness, 12 .…”
