Abstract: Objective: To evaluate HIV-positive mothers' ability to administer zidovudine and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (SMZ/TMP) prophylaxis for HIV-exposed infants. Methods: This cross-sectional and quantitative study was carried out at a reference hospital for HIV/AIDS patients in Fortaleza (CE), Brazil.
