Adaptive Distributed Consensus Protocol for Automatic Generation Control of Large-Scale Interconnected Power Systems

Abstract: An adaptive distributed consensus protocol (ADCP) for the automatic generation control of large-scale interconnected power systems is proposed in this paper. An updated strategy of the parameters of the ADCP is designed. Furthermore, the stability of the proposed ADCP is analyzed. A four-area power system that all the areas are connected in the large-scale interconnected power system is simulated in this paper. Comparing with the simulation results obtained by three control protocols, i.e., none protocol, dist… Show more

“…calculated a BESS also minimizing the BESS's area with enhancing lifespan. Authors (Yin, et al, 2019;Khadanga, et al, 2017;& Wu, et al, 2016) worked for interconnected systems with hybrid intelligent optimization techniques utilized in AGC. Zhang et al (2017) utilized RMC technique with distributed coordination AGC as regulation capacity in different areas to remove frequency deviations.…”

“…Theoretical studies on it are presented (Cai et al, 2016; Meng et al, 2020; Ning et al, 2020; Zhao and Hua, 2020), just a few to name. The consensus of multi-agents has been studied for decades, and it is widely applied in many areas, such as power systems, form cooperative control, unmanned aerial vehicles (UVAs) and robotics (Liu et al, 2018; Mehdifar et al, 2020; Wang et al, 2018; Xu et al, 2021; Yin et al, 2019). Nonholonomic system is a typical system with nonholonomic constraints (nonholonomic constraints include nonintegrable derivatives of generalized coordinates of the system).…”

“…During the past decades, the consensus issue for multi-agent systems has been paid extensive attention. This is mainly due to its wide practical applications in many fields including power systems, UVAs, formation control, and robotics [5]- [9]. Then a very important property in the study of consensus is the rate of convergence, FTC becoming one hot topic for its faster convergence and superior performance [10]- [12].…”
