Adaptação cultural de instrumento para avaliação da capacidade física em cardiopatas

Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To validate the content and to evaluate the reliability of the Veterans Specifi c Activity Questionnaire instrument, culturally adapted for use in the Brazilian population of cardiac patients. METHODS:The instrument was translated and back-translated and subsequently analyzed by a committee of judges to evaluate its semanticidiomatic and cultural equivalences. “…(16,17) The simple agreement average of the interobserver evaluation corresponded to 97.6%, and the mean simple agreement of the test and retest was 97%, indicating an excellent agreement, in line with other studies. (13)(14)(15)(16)(17)(18)(19) The data revealed that the instruments of the Quality Assurance program present equivalence and excellent stability when compared to those from other studies. (16)(17)(18)(19) We believe that, through these instruments, the managers of the National Transplantation System can encourage hospital managers to use these tools in order to develop indicators, based on concise information obtained from the medical records of patients deceased at Critical Patient Units.…”

“…This suggests that the inter-observer agreement of items lies within the levels recommended by other authors, with Kappa values of 0.68, 0.73, 0.80, 0.92, 0.97. (13)(14)(15)(16)(17)(18)(19) Still, in these studies, values of 0.68, 0.86, 0.89 and 0.92 for the tests and re-tests were identified. “…The internal consistency, evaluated by means of Cronbach's alpha, was observed in all instruments except for the VSAQ (14) , MDI (15) , and Disease Knowledge and Self-Care Questionnaire for Heart Failure Patients (21) , in which such properties were not applicable, and the Bulpitt and Fletcher Quality of Life Instrument for Hypertensives (20) , in which there was no information.…”

“…Stability, known as reproducibility in some studies, was evaluated in five instruments by means of Kappa index, with values above 0.60 (14)(15)(18)(19)21) , and by means of Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) on three instruments, also with values above 0.60 (17,22,26) . There were no reports of stability analysis in three studies (13,20,23) .…”
