Show more

“…Thus, the genotypes with values close to the ordinate (i.e., close to zero) will be the most stable within the tested environments given that they contribute less to the GxE interaction (Silveira et al, 2012;Fernandes Jr et al, 2013). In the AMMI2 model (PCA1 x PCA2), the genotypes close to the origin of the axes are more stable than those that are more distant because they contributed little to the magnitude of the GxE interaction.…”

“…When studying the effect of the rainfall regime on the GxE interaction, Ramburan (2011) found strong environmental interaction factors . Fernandes Jr et al (2013), Guerra (2010), Rosa (2008), and Silveira et al (2012) identified interactions in sugarcane, thereby furthering the recommendation of highly responsive cultivars and reporting improvement in the yield in specific regions.…”

“…This could have occurred due to favorable climate at highest altitude for this site (764 m). This methodology classifies the environments considering the set of environmental factors which influence the productivity of genotypes, being possible to highlight best environment based on the variable studied (Fernandes Júnior et al, 2013). In the bi-segmented linear regression method, adaptability and stability parameters were estimated for yield variable.…”

“…The influence of the interaction (G×E) on the performance of the genotypes is of utmost importance, knowing that each genotype has an inherent capacity to respond to environment to environment changes (Pinto et al, 2011). This phenomenon represents a barrier to selection and to cultivar guidance (Andrade et al, 2013). In order to minimize such effects, breeders have to provide guidance for cultivars with large adaptability and good stability-or regional guidance-since positive interaction associated with environmental predictability represents an opportunity for commercial use (Vasconcelos, Reis, Cruz, Sediyama, & Scapim, 2010).…”

“…There are countless literatures on adapatability and stability using the AMMI model: Guerra et al (2009), , Silveira et al (2012), Souza, Bastos, Anunciação Filho, Dutra Filho, and Machado (2012), Verissimo, Silva, Aíres, Daros, and Panziera (2012), Andrade et al (2013), Fernandes Júnior et al (2013, Silveira et al (2013), Dultra Filho, Júnior, andSimões Neto (2015), Antunes, Schöffel, Silva, Eicholz, and Harter (2016).…”
