“…Swimming crab ( Portunus trituberculatus ) is an important crab species cultured in China, which is also widely found in Japan and North Korea (Dai, Feng, Song, Huang, & Wu, 1977). With the development of farming, the P. trituberculatus industry is gradually threatened by various diseases, such as virus diseases ( P. trituberculatus reovirus disease [SCRV] (Zhang, Li, Liu, & Zhang, 2015) and white spot syndrome virus disease [WSSV] (Wang, Wang, Xu, He, & Gu, 2008)), bacterial diseases ( Vibrio alginolyticus (Ye, Xia, Mu, Li, & Wang, 2016) and V. harveyi infections (Zhou et al, 2013)) and parasitic diseases (toothpaste crab disease [ Ameson portunus ] (Wang et al., 2017) and Hematodinium infections (Xu, Shi, Xu, & Small, 2007)). In March to April of 2017 and 2018, farmed P. trituberculatus died in eastern China, with a mortality rate of more than 80%.…”
