“…22 Regarding the impairment of the sexual health of the women investigated, the reports involving the acquisition of STIs stand out. These findings are related to studies produced in Brazil, 9,13,15,18 in the United States of America; 12 and Bolivia. 14 Vulnerability to STIs in the female prison population due to the specific situation imposed by prison confinement is a fact, both from a biological point of view, taking into account physical sexual contact between partners; as well as epidemiological, which involves the lack of knowledge about the form of transmission of STIs, and the non-periodicity in monitoring gynecological examinations.…”

“…8 Research produced in the national and international context, overlapping the incidence and prevalence of STIs among women in situations of deprivation of liberty has pointed out important questions about the possibility of risk behavior involving the sexual health of this specific group. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyze the perception of Brazilian women in situations of deprivation of liberty about their sexual health.…”

“…Os anos de 2018, 2017 e 2015 obtiveram 8,10% (3), 10,81% (4), e 2,7% (1), respectivamente. No que se refere à abordagem dos estudos, prevaleceu a abordagem quantitativa com 70,27% (26), em detrimento da abordagem qualitativa, 24,32% (9). Houve apenas um estudo quanti-qualitativo e outro estudo que se utilizou de métodos mistos (2,7%).…”

“…Item 32, which started with an even lower mean in the pre-test (0.53) and deals with imprisoned women’s vulnerability to STIs when compared to free women, was a subject matter of great controversy. Despite the game portraying this idea, based on scientific studies [ 4 , 43 , 44 ], it was common for imprisoned women to disagree with this information. This is because the unit provides access to a series of preventive services that, under conditions of freedom, they would have difficulty enjoying, taking into account the social vulnerability of the environment where they were previously inserted.…”
