“…Several studies on tourism for PwD have used the leisure constraints theory (e.g., Daniels et al, 2005;Devile and Kastenholz, 2018) to explain why PwD do not travel and to identify facilitators or negotiation strategies to overcome these constraints. According to Nyaupane and Andereck (2008), one model that has been used to facilitate the study of leisure constraints, proposed by Crawford and Godbey (1987), categorises the constraints into three groups: intrapersonal (related to psychological states and attributes of individuals that influence their preferences), interpersonal (related to social interaction or relationships among people within social context that influence preferences as well as participation) and structural (related to the external context of the individual which includes, for example, lack of time, financial constraints, transportation difficulties and lack of suitable and reliable information).…”
