Aktifitas manual material handling (MMH) utamanya pada industri keecil dan menengah seringkali tidak melakukan perhitungan secara ergonomis. Hal tersebut menyebabakan sangat tingginya risiko kecelakaan dan kesehatan yang mungkin terjadi oleh pekerja. UD. SAUDARA merupakan ukm penghasil kerupuk yang pekerjanya mempunyai tugas untuk mengerjakan setiap proses pembuatan krupuk secara manual. Untuk itu pada penelitian ini, dilakukan analisa postur kerja dengan menggunakan metode Rapid Upper Limb (RULA). Metode RULA digunakan untuk menilai postur, gaya dan gerakan suatu aktivitas kerja yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan anggota tubuh bagian atas (upper limb). Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data dengan Metode RULA, aktivitas pengambilan serta pengangkatan krupuk untuk dibawa ke mesin oven memperoleh skor 7. Skor 7 tersebut menunjukkan bahwa action level aktivitas tersebut bernilai 4 yang berarti aktivitas tersebut berbahaya. Karena itu, postur kerja ini harus diperbaiki saat itu juga karena postur kerja tersebut tidak aman dan nyaman terhadap pekerja. Rekomendasi yang diusulkan yaitu diperlukan perancangan alat bantu dan perbaikan postur kerja.

The improvement of production processes is currently one of the key elements of the company's competitiveness. In the pursuit of profit, the rationality of streamlined processes is not always taken into account, i.e. that both process needs and these of employees should be considered. Caring of the comfort of work, of adjusting the workplace to the employee is the main goal of ergonomic activity. On the level of implementation of ergonomic demands depends not only the quality and modernity of the products, but also the ergonomics of the workstation and the production process, forming the basis for better quality and more efficient work. The Improvement of the quality of the ergonomic workplace is possible on the basis of a properly conducted assessment, using a variety of tools. This article presents the evaluation and ergonomic analysis of the work process at four production workplaces, and then indicates the directions of changes. The analysis included elements of physical effort: energy expenditure, static load and traffic monotype. Traditional tools were used, such as OWAS, REBA, and also the use of quality assessment tools (Ishikawa diagram, Pareto-Lorenzo diagram) was proposed in order to suggest solutions to improve the ergonomic quality of the workstations under analysis.

Application of AULA Risk Assessment Tool by Comparison with Other Ergonomic Risk Assessment Tools

Agricultural upper limb assessment (AULA), which was developed for evaluating upper limb body postures, was compared with the existing assessment tools such as rapid upper limb assessment (RULA), rapid entire body assessment (REBA), and ovako working posture analysis system (OWAS) based on the results of experts’ assessments of 196 farm tasks in this study. The expert group consisted of ergonomists, industrial medicine experts, and agricultural experts. As a result of the hit rate analysis, the hit rate (average: 48.6%) of AULA was significantly higher than those of the other assessment tools (RULA: 33.3%, REBA: 30.1%, and OWAS: 34.4%). The quadratic weighted kappa analysis also showed that the kappa value (0.718) of AULA was significantly higher than those of the other assessment tools (0.599, 0.578, and 0.538 for RULA, REBA, and OWAS, respectively). Based on the results, AULA showed a better agreement with expert evaluation results than other evaluation tools. In general, other assessment tools tended to underestimate the risk of upper limb posture in this study. AULA would be an appropriate evaluation tool to assess the risk of various upper limb postures.
