A Review of Mathematical Models of Building Physics and Energy Technologies for Environmentally Friendly Integrated Energy Management Systems

Abstract: The Energy Management System (EMS) is an efficient technique to monitor, control and enhance the building performance. In the state-of-the-art, building performance analysis is separated into building simulation and control management: this may cause inaccuracies and extra operating time. Thus, a coherent framework to integrate building physics with various energy technologies and energy control management methods is highly required. This framework should be formed by simplified but accurate models of building… Show more

“…These models are often too large and complex and can only be used offline due to their being computationally intractable. Based on the lumped parameter method, R-C models can overcome the above shortages so that analytical optimization can be applied [5]. Based on the R-C thermodynamic model, a robust model predictive control is proposed in [6] to participate in the ancillary market.…”

“…Suppose lines (4-5, 9-10, 12-13) of the network are originally equipped with RCSs. Candidate nodes for the BIWT, BIPV, SVG, and ESS installation are designated as (13,16,22,24,47), (5,10,30,42,47), (20,32,43,49), and (17,31,35,45). Lines with SOPs are (2-8, 6-28, 10-15, 30-43, 33-39, 46-47, [22][23].…”

“…There are also examples of the development of the indoor temperature setpoint control method for air conditioning [35]. Also to be found is a review of mathematical models of building physics and energy technology related to the Energy Management System (EMS), which provides an extendable map for building modeling and control [36]. Occupancy-centered local control strategies in buildings, in addition to achieving user-friendly comfort results, can also avoid overcooling of buildings and thus reduce energy consumption [37].…”
