International students face unique challenges in pursuing higher education in a foreign country. To address these challenges and enhance their academic experience, higher education institutions are increasingly exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This research essay aims to investigate the impact of AI on the education of international students. Instead of a traditional literature review, it employs a research approach to examine the potential applications of AI and discuss associated concerns. The research paper explores various AI applications, such as personalized learning experiences, adaptive testing, predictive analytics, and chatbots for learning and research. By analyzing the role of AI in education for international students, this research paper sheds light on how AI can improve learning efficiency and provide customized educational support. Additionally, it identifies significant risks and limitations, including privacy concerns, cultural differences, language proficiency, and ethical implications, which must be effectively addressed. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the potential impact of AI on international students’ educational experiences and offer insights into the integration of AI into educational administration and learning processes.

The increasing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in daily life has led to the emergence of numerous skill sets associated with AI. AI literacy, which is becoming an important citizenship competence, has become a skill that has gained importance in recent years. It is thought that the aim of social studies to prepare students as active citizens of today and the future has made AI literacy a direct subject of social studies education. However, the literature on the relationship between social studies and AI literacy is still scarce. This study aims to explore the relationship between social studies and AI literacy and to discuss the potential role of social studies in teaching AI literacy. In this direction, the concept of AI is defined, and the teaching of AI literacy in education is examined; the teaching of this literacy within the scope of social studies is discussed, and an example of a hands-on activity-supported lesson plan, which can be used in social studies classes, is presented. This study is important in terms of pointing out the potential role of social studies in AI literacy teaching.

Teacher education and how to develop teacher professional development are increasingly being researched. There is a dearth of knowledge about the application of Moodle in EAP teacher education programs (Arno-Macia, 2012). Some studies in this field attempted to fill the gap in the literature by investigating the impact of Moodle on the professional development of EAP teachers. The findings revealed a statistically significant relationship between Moodle-based teacher education programs and the professional development of EAP teachers (Nazari et al., 2019). Based on the current research results, Moodle provided direct communication between the teacher and the students, which significantly helped students improve their knowledge in EAP. The interviewees reported significant disadvantages, including internet connection problems and the need for technological devices. The findings of this study can be viewed as a general motivator for educational policymakers to invest more in Online Educational Programs rather than seeing them as an alternative to traditional teacher training programs.
