A map-based platform for smart mobility services

Abstract: Nowadays smart mobility, a new vision of urban mobility, is a reality. To implement smart mobility scenarios a deep integration among citizens, private and public transportation systems and ICT is required. With the S2-Move project we propose an architecture able to collect, update, and process real-Time and heterogeneous information from various sources (tablets, smart-phones, probe vehicles) and actors of the urban scenario (public/private vehicles, pedestrians, infrastructures) in order to provide innovativ… Show more

“…Yet another publication from 2015 deals with an intelligent mobility platform [23], which uses a map-based platform as its core component. In one project, an architecture was developed which is able to collect, update and process heterogeneous information and real-time data from different sources and actors in order to optimize the offers made to the users of public transport.…”

“…NMS have been the subject of research, e.g. in terms of new architectures [2], business models [3], platforms [4] acceptance by end users [1] or required standards. However, the way new mobility solutions affect public transport companies and in particular the architecture of a company has hardly been researched so far.…”

“…Possible SEnTINEL applications include vehicle routing services and emergency route discovery. The S 2 -Move project proposes an archi-tecture that is able to collect, update, and process real-time and heterogeneous data derived from a number of different sources (sensors, smartphones, vehicles, and pedestrians) to provide innovative mobility services [13].…”
