A key performance measures for evaluating cold supply chain performance in farm industry

Abstract: The main objective of this study was to develop a set of measures, evaluate their importance and effect in cold supply chain performance. This investigation reviewed previous research works on all the stages of the farm product supply chain. Based on farm product supply chain, 4 measures with 31 metrics were identified and developed to measure the cold supply chain performance. A survey was organized to establish the importance and the effect of identified measures. The 5 point Likert scale questionnaire was d… Show more

“…Measuring the supply chain performance can facilitate greater understanding of the supply chain and improve its overall performance (Charan et al, 2008). Designing an effective supply chain performance, which can evaluate the performance of the whole supply chain, is important due to a number of reasons namely increase in middleman income, customer value orientation, global competition, stakeholder needs, technology and international rules and regulations (Shashi and Singh, 2015). Besides, supply chain consists of different levels, namely supplier, manufacturer, distributor and consumer, and it is a network of companies influencing each other and affecting one another's performance (Bigliardi and Bottani, 2010).…”

“…Various researchers and practitioners have performed many studies to evaluate the performance in different CSC traits. Shashi and Singh (2015) developed a structural framework to analyze the CSC performance for a farm industry. To explore the performance factors of the CSC, they performed a literature review analytics and survey-based approach.…”
