“…However, only two examples of LMOF-based probes for Th 4+ ion detecting have so far been published. In 2019, the authors of [ 95 ] designed a 3D MOF, [Eu 2 (FDC) 3 (DMA) 2 ]·4H 2 O, with excellent hydrolytic stability by using 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid (2,5-H 2 FDC) as an organic linker. [Eu 2 (FDC) 3 (DMA) 2 ]·4H 2 O presented excellent sensing ability toward the Th 4+ ion in water with the 5 D 0 lifetime as long as 1.087 ms.…”

“…Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), as one of the research hotspots over the past few years, are a sort of self-assembly supermolecular crystalline porous materials. MOF is usually centered on metal ions or clusters to combine a periodic framework with organic ligands. For multiple articles reported, due to its well-developed porosity, high surface area, and tunable uniform pore size, MOF shows great potential application prospect, such as drug loading, , gas adsorption, storage and separation, , heterogeneous catalysis, chemical sensing, and bioimaging. , …”

“…The emission intensity of the free CFBS-ligand increases with increasing pH value due to the enhanced electrostatic interaction between the deprotonated form of the CFBS-ligand and Th(IV) ions. At pH values lower than 3.5, the protonation of the functional groups of the CFBS-ligand occurred, leading to decreasing interaction between the CFBS-ligand and Th(IV) ions; thus, the emission intensity decreased . On the other hand, the emission intensity of the CFBS-ligand was also reduced at pH values above 3.5.…”

This behavior might be due to the breaking of intramolecular hydrogen bonds.…”
