A green biosynthesis of NiO nanoparticles using aqueous extract of Tamarix serotina and their characterization and application

Abstract: Nickel oxide nanoparticles were prepared using nickel nitrate as precursor with extract of Tamarix serotina flowers and were characterized using powder X‐ray diffraction, infrared and UV spectroscopies, transmission electron microscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry and BET surface area measurements. Also, the nickel oxide nanoparticles were used as a green and recyclable nanocatalyst for the synthesis of quinoline derivatives. The products are obtained in good to high yields (60–90%) from a one‐pot reaction o… Show more

“…Mostly phenolic compounds are responsible for the biogenic synthesis of NPs, however the clear mechanism by which NPs get synthesized is an open area of research for the scientific community. Successful plant mediated synthesis of NiONPs using plant extracts have been reported in the literature . Previously NiONPs have been synthesized but their extensive biological potentials like antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, anticancer, enzyme inhibition, antileishmanial and biocompatibility assays are rarely reported.…”

“…In continuation of our ongoing research on the development of eco‐friendly organic synthesis, particularly by nano‐catalysts, up to now, salen complexes that are stabled on a magnetic nano‐substrate have not been used in multi‐component synthesis of spirooxindole. In this paper, we introduce Co (III) salen complex immobilized on cobalt ferrite‐silica nanoparticle [CoFe 2 O 4 @SiO 2 @Co (III) salen complex] as an efficient, active and recyclable magnetic nano‐catalyst that can be used for different organic functional group transformations in green processes.…”

“…Therefore, we selected a cost‐effective, productive, eco‐friendly biogenic method for nanoparticle synthesis . NiO has been synthesized by using Nepheliumlappaceum L peel extract, Moringaoleifera extract, aqueous extract of Tamarixserotina , Agathosma Betulina natural extract, Hydrangea paniculata flower extracts, using Arabic Gum, aeglemarmelos leaf extract …”
