A Fuzzy Based Efficient Load Flow Analysis

Abstract: Abstract-Load flow calculation is one of the most basic problems in power engineering. The repetitive solution of a large set of linear equations in load flow problem is one of the most time consuming parts of power systems simulations. Load flows are calculated using the traditional method such as Gauss Seidel or Newton Raphson methods. Gauss Seidel algorithm is an iterative numerical procedure and in this method the number of iteration depends on the acceleration factor (α). Here we attempt to choose the acc… Show more

“…It is of great importance that electrical load flow studies are conducted to monitor and control the load and voltage profiles in a power systems network. This ensures effective electrical network performance and reduces disruption to operations unexpectedly and savings on operating and maintenance costs and loss of production [14]. Network modelling is useful for network planners, designers and operators.…”

“…The model must describe the characteristics of individual network components as well as the relations that govern the interconnection of these elements. The elements of a network matrix depend on the selection of the independent variables, which can be either currents or voltages, correspondingly the elements of the network matrix will be impedances or admittances (McDonald, 2000;Johnson et al, 2005;Chakravorty et al, 2009;Kumarasamy et al, 2012). The electrical characteristics of the individual network components can be presented in the form of a primitive network matrix.…”

“…In the last decade, Krylov subspace methods [9,10], and fuzzy logic [11,12], have both been used to analyze load flow. However, because they take a long time to compute, these techniques cannot be employed for online system monitoring and control.…”
