A Facile Synthesis of Core-Shell SiO2@Cu-LBMS Nano-Microspheres for Drug Sustained Release Systems

Abstract: A well-dispersed SiO2@Layered hydroxide cupric benzoate (SiO2@Cu-LBMS) with a hierarchical structure have been synthesized by a facile method. The layered hydroxide cupric benzoate with a structure of layered basic metal salt (Cu-LBMS) was directly deposited on the surface of silica spheres without any blinder. The morphology of the SiO2@Cu-LBMS nano-microsphere was observed by SEM, and the reaction conditions was also discussed. In addition, the XRD patterns and FTIR spectra provide consistent evidence to the… Show more

“…The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of Pd−Zn@MS was shown in Figure 2a, and there is an obvious wide diffraction peak in the range from 15° to 30°, which is the characteristic “steamed bread peak” of silica on the outer layer of Pd−Zn@MS [36] . Meanwhile, the diffraction peaks corresponding to the (111) and (200) crystal planes of PdZn alloy can be found at 41.2° and 44.1° (Pd 1 Zn 1 , PDF#06‐0620) [37] .…”

“…In addition, the weak peak at 1532 cm –1 was ascribed to the secondary amide N–H bending, and the N–H vibration peak could be observed at 814 cm –1 as well. Moreover, the C–N tensile peak and Si–O–C peak arose at 1456 and 1072 cm –1 , respectively. These results vividly demonstrated that the GO was modified by GPTS and the nanocomposite SiO 2 -GO was prepared.…”

“…The addition of a small amount of ultrafine silica could change the dissolution rate of griseofulvin, which could highly enhance the dispersibility of insoluble drugs in water ( Rojas and Kumar, 2011 ). SiO 2 nanospheres (SiO 2 NPs) had significantly increased the loading capacity of layered copper hydroxybenzoate and prolonged the release time ( Wang et al, 2019 ). However, to our best knowledge, there are few reports on SiO 2 NPs as nanocarrier to delivering gatifloxacin, motivating us to explore the effect of SiO 2 NPs on the antibacterial activity of gatifloxacin.…”
