Objective: To reflect on the sensitive behaviors of indigenous healthcare professionals based on the philosophy of Emmanuel Lévinas, to ratify completeness, equity, and humanity. Method: reflective study. Reflection: Studies have identified inadequacies in meeting the indigenous singularities. In the hospital and outpatient settings, they are diluted in the search for care. The difficulty of the professionals to admit them generates conflicts and non-adherence of indigenous individuals to treatments that disregard their care practices. In Lévinas, consciousness requires, "a priori," sensitivity to access the Infinity on the Face of the Other, which in the face-to-face encounters is presented to the Self as radical Alterity, proposing an Ethical relationship through transcendence. The freedom of the Self as to the Other is finite, as the Self cannot possess the Other, and infinite for its responsibility for the Other. Final considerations: The Self builds essence and existence in responsibility. In the Ethics of Alterity, in Lévinas, reflections are proposed that influence sensitive behaviors.

The principle of autonomy was a significant bioethical achievement in terms of its positive impact on the physician-patient relationship. The search for balance in the paternalistic doctor and indigenous patient relationship is fundamental for the symmetrical maintenance of such relations. In this context, it is essential that the medical professional considers and accepts the existence of social and cultural diversity when planning therapeutic strategies that aim to ensure the autonomy of the patient, the family and community, thus guaranteeing a good quality of service and of life. The aim of this article is to characterize, from the perspective of bioethics, the challenge faced by the physician-indigenous patient relationship, indicate critical situations and suggest means for an ideally harmonious relationship between these cultures in the area of health. ResumoConsiderações bioéticas sobre a relação médico-paciente indígena O princípio da autonomia foi conquista bioética significativa, uma vez que teve impactos positivos na relação médico-paciente. A busca do equilíbrio no contato entre o tradicional paternalismo médico e a especificidade cultural do paciente indígena é fundamental para a manutenção simétrica dessa relação. Diante disso, é indispensável que o médico considere e admita a existência da diversidade social e cultural para elaborar projetos terapêuticos que visem a autonomia do paciente, da família e comunidade, garantindo, assim, bom atendimento e qualidade de vida. Este artigo objetiva caracterizar, sob o enfoque da bioética, o desafio enfrentado na relação médico-paciente indígena, pontuar situações críticas e sugerir aos profissionais estratégias para estabelecer relações idealmente harmoniosas entre essas culturas na área da saúde. RESUMOObjetivo: Conhecer o perfil da saúde sexual, reprodutiva e aspectos socioculturais de mulheres indígenas. Métodos: Estudo observacional, transversal e descritivo, realizado em ambulatório de referência em saúde indígena, durante o período de 2010 a 2013. Aplicouse um formulário semiestruturado contendo dados socioculturais, histórico de vida sexual e reprodutiva. Coletou-se o esfregaço cervicovaginal. Utilizou-se a análise descritiva, com apresentação de média e desvio padrão (DP) para variáveis quantitativas, e números absolutos e relativos para variáveis qualitativas. Resultados: A amostra constituiu-se de 90 indígenas, com idade média de 36 anos (± DP 13,41), pertencentes a 35 etnias. Para 75 mulheres (83,4%), a coitarca ocorreu na faixa etária de 12 a 19 anos, 74 (82,2 %) estavam em período reprodutivo e 36 (48,6%) usavam método contraceptivo, como o anticoncepcional hormonal e a laqueadura tubária. A média de partos foi de 4,6 por mulher; a idade média no primeiro parto foi de 17,3 anos (± DP 3,23); 23 delas (26,8%) tiveram de 1 a 3 abortamentos e 26 (31,2%) tiveram um ou mais partos cesáreas. Em oito mulheres (8,9%), identificaramse alterações para atipias citológicas e doenças sexualmente transmissíveis (Trichomonas vaginalis e Papilomavírus humano) no exame colpocitológico. Conclusão: Foram observadas condições de vulnerabilidade das mulheres indígenas a partir do seu perfil sexual e reprodutivo, com exposição às doenças sexualmente transmissíveis, câncer do colo do útero, início precoce da vida sexual e pouco acesso à informação e prevenção.
