The main aim of the article is to identify the changes in employees’ sources of intrinsic motivation caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to discuss prospective modifications to formulated patterns of internal marketing communication. The novelty of the research lies in two main aspects: (1) the necessity to revise the traditional concept of motivation caused by the pandemic and (2) own methodological approach. While the first aspect reflects the lack of appropriate scientific attention paid to this issue, the second aspect develops methodological approaches applied so far in the research of intrinsic motivation sources. The goal of the paper has been achieved via own questionnaire research of the traditional quadratic structure of the intrinsic motivation sources of employees. The data from socio-demographically representative sample of 2000 respondents have been in accordance with contemporary trends in managerial analytics analysed via factor analysis and relevant statistic tests. It has been found that the ranking of intrinsic motivation sources before the COVID-19 pandemic was the following: (1) sense of choice; (2) sense of meaningfulness; (3) sense of progress and (4) sense of competence. The ranking of intrinsic motivation sources during the COVID-19 pandemic was the following: (1) sense of choice; (2) sense of progress; (3) sense of meaningfulness; and (4) sense of competence. Based on the identified changes in intrinsic motivation sources and their components, it can be stated that the pandemic has significantly influenced the existing principles and patterns of internal marketing communication. These should be critically reconsidered, and motivation systems should be revised to contribute to the optimal performance of the company on the market and its sustainable development by focusing on the financial situation of the company, significant for the economic pillar; the change in individual value scales, significant for the environmental pillar; and the phenomenon of millennials, significant for the social pillar. By intersecting these pillars, sustainability can be reached based on finding optimum motivation.

Methods of overcoming the psychological stress of parents in the process of educating children during the MCO period according to the Islamic perspective are among the issues that need to be addressed to overcome the crisis experienced by parents when managing children at home, especially in the learning process. Studies conducted on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on society revealed social barriers when the pandemic affected emotional and psychological well-being with symptoms of stress, stress, anxiety, worry, depression, and depression as well as persistent economic stress. Parents are no exception affected by the spread of COVID-19 and MCO with concern about the mental and emotional health of children during the MCO as well as stress and burdened with home-based learning and teaching (PdPR). Therefore, the crisis and stress that was found to exist among parents during the pandemic, especially in the aspect of children's education at home, should be taken remedial measures as a practice towards continued well-being and happiness in the family. Thus, this study was conducted to analyze the methods of overcoming the psychological stress of parents in the educational process of children during the MCO period. The design of this study was a survey study. The method of quantitative data collection was done using the distribution of questionnaires to 516 parents and analyzed descriptively using SPSS. The results showed that the majority of respondents always pray and rely on God (mean = 3.61) as the main step to overcome psychological stress. This study can be utilized by parents and all Muslim families next to the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), The National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), and Department of Social Welfare (JKM) to provide continuous education and guidance to shape family well-being in Malaysia.

In this paper, we explore the response of an aggregate measure of subjective wellbeing to the arrival and passage of the COVID-19 pandemic in a small, geographically separate economy in the South Pacific. Studies of national wellbeing and emotional responses to infection rates during a pandemic have been rare thus far. While several disciplines offer theoretical priors in the case of individuals, far less attention has been paid to the wellbeing and emotional response at a national level. Our paper contributes to the literature by applying a time-series approach to the relationship between wellbeing, emotions and the passage of a pandemic. As such we contribute to a wider literature on macro responses to exogenous shocks. Our analysis involves the use of a wellbeing index and emotional time-series derived from Big Data in the form of tweets originating within New Zealand. The index captures the daily evaluative mood of the country several weeks before the first domestic case of COVID-19 was recorded until several weeks of no new COVID-19 cases. We find distinct reactions to the pandemic: a initial fall in national wellbeing generated by a decrease in the emotions ‘joy’, ‘anticipation’ and ‘trust’. Following a rapid and severe lockdown designed to limit domestic transmission of the virus national wellbeing recovered relatively quickly. Gaining insight into the wellbeing (happiness) reponse to pandemics at the national level is important because the average level of happiness within countries is known to be associated with a range of economic, social, health and political outcomes.
