Micropropagation protocol for Syngonanthus elegans (Bong.) Ruhland: an ornamental species

Abstract: ABSTRACT. The research aimed to establish a protocol of micropropagation of Syngonanthus elegans. Seed germination in WPM media containing 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% salt concentrations was evaluated. Establishment of plantlets in WPM and MS media, with 50 or 100% salt concentrations, was studied. The addition of 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 de ANA e TDZ foram utilizados. Palavras-chave: floricultura, cultivo in vitro, multiplicação, aclimatiza… Show more

“…Necrosis reduction could be explained by the amounts and sources of essential elements that are contributed by the WPM basal medium. MS and WPM mediums have almost the same content of calcium, around 3 mM in WPM, but MS supplies a higher amount of nitrogen, which also has been reported as one of the causes of STN (Pêgo et al, 2014). MS medium has four times more of NH +4 (20.61 vs 5.00 mM), and NO 3 -(39.41 vs 9.71 mM) (Silva et al, 2020).…”
