Características ideais do cirurgião-dentista na estratégia saúde da família

Abstract

Resumo O objetivo do presente estudo é conhecer a visão de integrantes das equipes da Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF) sobre as características ideais de um cirurgião-dentista para atuar nesse modelo. O estudo foi do tipo qualitativo, utilizando a técnica de grupo focal para a coleta de dados. Foram realizados grupos focais com agentes comunitários de saúde, auxiliares de enfermagem, enfermeiras e médicos da ESF de Goiânia, Goiás, que haviam trabalhado com equipes de saúde bucal por um período mínimo de um ano. Os dados foram examinados utilizando-se a análise temática de conteúdo. Na percepção dos profissionais entrevistados, os cirurgiões-dentistas, assim como os demais profissionais da ESF, devem apresentar competências profissionais para atuar no campo da saúde pública e competências interpessoais, caracterizadas pela capacidade de comunicação, bom relacionamento, ética, criatividade em situações difíceis e equilíbrio emocional. Estas características remetem a uma formação profissional focada nos princípios do Sistema Único de Saúde e na Política Nacional de Humanização. AbstractThe purpose of this study was to get to know the vision of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) team members concerning the ideal characteristics a dentist must have to work under this model. The study used a qualitative approach and the focus group technique to collect data. Focus groups were conducted with community health agents, nursing assistants, nurses and physicians from the FHS of Goiânia, Goiás (Central-West Brazil), who had worked with oral health teams for at least a year. Data were analyzed using thematic content analyses. In the view of the professionals who were interviewed, dentists, as well as other FHS professionals, must have professional skills to work in the field of public health and interperso-nal skills characterized by the ability to communicate, have good relationships, ethics, creativity in tough situations, and emotional balance. These characte-ristics lead to vocational training focused on the principles of the Unified Health System the National Humanization Policy.
