RESUMO -Foram utilizados 1200 pintos da linhagem Label Rouge, com peso médio inicial de 41,0 ± 0,55 g, distribuídos em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 2 x 5, (com e sem acidificante X 0, 25, 50, 75 e 100% de silagem de grãos úmidos de milho -SGUM). Foram determinados o ganho de peso (GP), consumo de ração (CR), conversão alimentar (CA), além da análise morfométrica e de microbiota intestinal, rendimento de carcaça e de cortes. De 1 a 63 dias, houve efeito quadrático (P<0,05) da SGUM sobre o CR e CA. Houve interação (P<0,05) entre os níveis de SGUM e a adição de acidificante para o rendimento de carcaça, e de cortes (asa e peito) e fígado das fêmeas. Os machos apresentaram interação (P<0,05) entre os níveis de SGUM e o acidificante para carcaça, sobrecoxa, peito e gordura. Houve interação (P<0,05) da inclusão de SGUM e a adição ou não de acidificante para a contagem de Lactobacillus aos 63 dias. Houve efeito quadrático da SGUM para o tratamento com acidificante, e as criptas apresentaram maior diâmetro para o tratamento sem acidificante. Os resultados sugerem que frangos caipiras alimentados com até 50% de SGUM com acidificante apresentam boas características de carcaça e de cortes e não sofrem danos sobre os parâmetros intestinais.Palavras-chave: Alimentos alternativo. Carcaça. Frangos caipiras. Vilosidades.ABSTRACT -In this experiment, 1200 Label Rouge chicks were used, with an average initial weight of 41.0 ± 0.55 g. The chicks were distributed over a completely randomised design in a 2 x 5 factorial scheme (with and without acidifier, and 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% high-moisture corn silage -HMCS). Weight gain (GP) was determined, together with feed intake (CR), and feed conversion (CA), morphometric analysis, an analysis of intestinal microbiota, and the yield from the carcass and cuts. From 1 to 63 days, a quadratic effect (P<0.05) was seen from the HMCS on CR and CA. There was an interaction (P<0.05) between the levels of HMCS and the addition of acidifier on carcass, cuts (wing and breast) and liver yield in females. For males, there was an interaction (P<0.05) between the levels of HMCS and acidifier on carcass, drumstick, breast and fat. There was an interaction (P<0.05) between the inclusion of HMCS and the addition of acidifier on the Lactobacillus count at 63 days. There was a quadratic effect from the HMCS for the treatment with acidifier, and the crypts showed a greater diameter for the treatment without acidifier. The results suggest that range chickens, fed with up to 50% HMCS with acidifier, display good characteristics for the carcass and cuts, and suffer no damage to the intestinal parameters.

Absorption, alternative feeds, poultry, cholesterol, metabolism, triglycerides.Submitted: September/2013 Approved: May/2014 ABStRACtThe effects of the dietary substitution of dry corn by high-moisture corn grain silage (HMCGS) were evaluated on the performance, nutrient digestibility and serum biochemical parameters of broilers reared in an alternative production system and submitted to different environmental temperatures. A total of 288 one-day-old male Cobb chicks were distributed according to a randomized block design in a 3x4 factorial arrangement: three environmental temperatures (hot, thermoneutral or cold) and four levels of HMCGS in substitution of dry corn (0%, 20%, 40% or 60%). The acid analysis showed that the evaluated HMCGS contained average percentage values of ethanol, lactic acid, and acetic acid (expressed in 100% of dry matter) of 0.7690, 2.7320 and 0.0249%, respectively. Propionic and butyric acids were not detected. Dry corn and HMCGS presented pH values of 5.8 and 3.3, respectively. The inclusion of HMCGS reduced dietary pH, as shown by the values of 5.7, 5.4, 5.1 and 4.8 recorded for the diets containing 0%, 20%, 40% and 60% of HMCGS, respectively. There was no significant interaction between diets and environmental temperature. HMCGS may replace up to 40% dry corn in broiler diets when performance, triglyceride levels, and HDL-cholesterol ratio is considered, and up to 60% when nutrient digestibility is evaluated. High environmental temperature impairs broiler performance, nutrient digestibility, and serum biochemistry, demonstrating the influence of environmental temperature on broiler metabolism and performance.

Para a determinação dos valores energéticos da silagem de grãos úmidos de milho (SGUM), foram utilizados 120 frangos de corte machos, linhagem Cobb Slow, de 21 a 31 dias de idade, com peso médio inicial de 765,0±1,7 g, distribuídos em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com cinco tratamentos (ração referência-RR e níveis de substituição da SGUM de 10, 20, 30 e 40 %), seis repetições e quatro aves por unidade experimental. O período experimental teve duração de dez dias, sendo cinco de adaptação e cinco de coleta. O método de análise foi o de coleta total de excretas, para posterior análises de energia metabolizável aparente (EMA) e EMA corrigida pelo balanço de nitrogênio (EMAn) da SGUM. Para a determinação dos valores de aminoácidos, foi usada a técnica de alimentação forçada em 12 galos Leghorn cecectomizados, com peso médio de 1912,10±133,73 g. Seis animais receberam a SGUM e os outros seis permaneceram em jejum. Ao final do período de coleta de excretas, foi determinado o perfil de aminoácidos essenciais, coeficientes de digestibilidade verdadeira e o conteúdo digestível verdadeiro dos aminoácidos no alimento. A SGUM apresentou valores médios de EMA e EMAn de 2283 de 2272 kcal/kg, respectivamente, sendo que os valores energéticos foram negativamente influenciados pelos níveis de inclusão da SGUM. A cistina apresentou o menor coeficiente de digestibilidade, enquanto a leucina e a glutamina apresentaram os maiores valores de aminoácidos digestíveis.
