Chronic activation of the innate immune system may underlie the metabolic syndrome

Abstract: CONTEXTO:The metabolic syndrome is characterized by a clustering, in free-living populations, of cardiovascular and diabetes risk factors generally linked to insulin resistance, obesity and central obesity.
