O deline… Show more

“…The results obtained are similar to those obtained in other studies of cotton crop (Freitas et al, 2007;Silva et al, 2011;Martins et al, 2012;Araújo et al, 2013;Jerônimo et al, 2014;Carvalho et al, 2015a,b). Table 1.…”

“…The means fiber length, fiber uniformity, fiber strength, fineness, fiber maturity, percentage of fibers, and short fiber index (Table 1) were similar to means previously obtained in other trials with cotton genotypes (Freitas et al, 2007;Araújo et al, 2013;Jerônimo et al, 2014;Carvalho et al, 2015a,b). This suggests suitability of this database for the proposed study, because it represents actual situations of field trials with cotton genotypes.…”

“…As the trends observed for fiber length, the lowest percentages of short fibers (6.62%) were found in the genotype BRS Topázio, regardless of the salinity management strategies ( Figure 6). Cunha Neto et al (2015), analyzing the genetic divergence between progenitors of white fibers and colored fibers, also found lower SFI in the genotype BRS Topázio (9.74%), which is positive because the lower this index, the better the resistance and regularity of the threads, since they influence processes subsequent to fabric weaving, such as torsional resistance and yarn appearance (Jerônimo et al, 2014).…”
