Objective: to analyze the meanings produced through the experiences and perceptions of healthcare professionals on the implementation of the strategy of directly observed treatment short course for tuberculosis control. Method: qualitative study carried out in Mozambique with 15 healthcare professionals. Inclusion criteriawerehaving acted in the Tuberculosis Control Program for more than one year, and exercising professional activity at the time of interview. A semi-structured script was used for data collection, and individual interviews were recorded. Results: three discursive units emerged: patient treatment procedures; community health agent and family roles; diffi culties in the application of directly observed treatment short course. Conclusion: treatment of tuberculosis requires constant involvement of the family, community, and especially the State in the creation and implementation of personnel training policies and infrastructure improvement. RESUMO Objetivo: analisar os sentidos produzidos por meio das experiências e percepções dos profi ssionais de saúde sobre a implementação da estratégia do tratamento diretamente observado de curta duração para o controle da tuberculose. Método: estudo qualitativo realizado em Moçambique com 15 profi ssionais de saúde. Critérios de inclusão: atuação no Programa de Controle da Tuberculose há mais de um ano e estar em atividade profi ssional no período da entrevista. Para a coleta de dados foi usado um roteiro semiestruturado e as entrevistas realizadas individualmente foram gravadas. Resultados: emergiram três unidades discursivas: os procedimentos no tratamento do doente; o papel de Agente Comunitário da Saúde e da família; as difi culdades na aplicação do tratamento diretamente observado de curta duração. Conclusão: o tratamento da tuberculose requer um envolvimento constante da família, da comunidade e principalmente do Estado na criação e aplicação de políticas de formação dos recursos humanos e melhoria de infraestruturas. Breastfeeding: Knowledge Degree Of Community Health Agents

The objective was to investigate the Community Health Agents (CHA) knowledge in breastfeeding. An analytical cross-sectional study with ACS of both genders that work in the Family Health Strategy. The data were obtained through a questionnaire, including open and closed questions regarding their socioeconomic, professional and breastfeeding knowledge. A total of 116 ACS patients with an average age of 44.2 ± 8.8 years and 14.7 ± 5.2 years of service time participated. Of these, 69.6% reported having performed some training, and only 24.8% and 6.2% obtained a satisfactory knowledge classification, related to important aspects about the technique and management of intercurrences in breastfeeding, respectively. Regarding the answers of the closed questions, which were about general knowledge about breastfeeding, the average number of correct answers was 15.2 ± 3.2 questions, which was significantly higher (p = 0.019) among professionals working in the urban area in Rural areas. In view of the results, there is a need for greater investments in the training of the ACS in breastfeeding, so that they can acquire the necessary knowledge to effectively work with pregnant women and nursing mothers, especially with regard to adequate breastfeeding techniques and treatment of breast complications.

Objective: To assess the learning of community health agents, in the form of knowledge and skills, to conceptualize, identify and register people with hearing, visual, physical and multiple impairments. Methods: Cross-sectional study involving 173 community health agents, who were trained to identify and register disabled people. The data were organized in an electronic worksheet and analyzed to calculate the statistical significance. Results: The community health agents identified 1,512 disabled people. The instruments of the hearing impaired were correctly completed in 83.5% and the error rate for the visually impaired was 15.3%, with (p<0.0001). The concepts of disabled person, low vision, hearing and physical impairment were understood (p<0.0001). Conclusion: The assessment of the community health agents' knowledge and skills to conceptualize, identify and register disabled people was satisfactory, showing the need for complementary training on abstract concepts. ResumoObjetivo: Avaliar a aprendizagem do agente comunitário de saúde, na forma de conhecimentos e habilidades para conceituar, identificar e cadastrar pessoas com deficiência auditiva, visual, física e múltipla. Métodos: Estudo transversal que incluiu 173 agentes comunitários de saúde, que foram capacitados para identificar e cadastrar pessoas com deficiência. Os dados foram organizados em planilha eletrônica e analisados para cálculo da significância estatística. Resultados: Os agentes comunitários de saúde identificaram 1.512 pessoas com deficiência. Os instrumentos dos deficientes auditivos foram corretamente preenchidos em 83,5% e o índice de erros no dos deficientes visuais foi de 15,3%, com (p<0,0001). Os conceitos de pessoa com deficiência, baixa visão, deficiência auditiva e física foram compreendidos (p<0,0001). Conclusão: Foi satisfatória a avaliação dos conhecimentos e das habilidades dos agentes comunitários de saúde para conceituar, identificar e cadastrar pessoas com deficiência, evidenciando a necessidade de capacitação complementar nos conceitos abstratos.
