Objective: Learn the perceptions of patients with sexually transmitted infections and sexual partners who are notified of the infection. Method: A descriptive and qualitative study, based on the collective subject discourse technique, was conducted in four healthcare centers of reference in Fortaleza, Ceará, from March to July 2014. The sample comprised 21 subjects (11 index patients and 10 notified partners). Results: The index patients reported complicity, concern about the partner's health and revelation of diagnosis aiming to preserve the relationship. The partners showed antagonistic perceptions: tranquilitybetrayal, fear of death, of incurability and the diagnosis, especially of HIV. The reasons for coming to a healthcare center were: fear of being sick, attenuation of guilt of infection transmission, need for diagnosis, early start of treatment. Conclusion: Fear of losing trust, insecurities when dealing with a sexual infection and being responsible or coresponsible for the transmission were the predominant feelings. Various types of partner notification were reported (verbal, telephone, notification card), according to individual convenience. This study suggests the use of alternative methods of notification and an integrated system of notification.

The study aims to understand the patients' perception regarding the nursing consultation at an outpatient clinic for Human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) in the city of Fortaleza-CE (State of Ceará). This is an exploratory and descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with fifteen patients of this institution and analyzed with the support of content analysis. The nursing consultation was reported by patients as a learning moment, focused onproviding information. The trust and emotional support provided by the professional act as a support to the conflicts experienced by the patients, allowing the construction of a new perspective of the disease. We believe that the implementation of the nursing consultation in a dialogic perspective can provide a new meaning to the conflicts surrounding the patients' illness.

RESUMO Os serviços de assistência especializada em HIV/Aids foram implementados em 1994, no Brasil, visando a oferecer ações de assistência, prevenção e tratamento às pessoas com HIV ou aids. O objetivo deste artigo é descrever os aspectos estruturais e organizacionais de três serviços de assistência especializada em HIV/Aids de Recife, Brasil. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, com abordagem quantitativa, desenvolvido por meio de um projeto multicêntrico. Participaram do estudo 3 gestores que apresentaram no mínimo 6 meses de vínculo com as instituições. Foi utilizado um questionário padronizado para a coleta dos dados. Para a análise foi utilizada estatística descritiva e comparativa dos serviços estudados. Os resultados indicaram uma desarticulação entre os aspectos teóricos e práticos da assistência prestada a pessoas com HIV/Aids, caracterizada pela deficiência na atenção interdisciplinar no processo de trabalho e na realização das ações previstas pelo Programa DST/Aids do Ministério da Saúde brasileiro. Conclui-se que os serviços mostraram características divergentes, apresentando déficit em sua estrutura e organização, que poderão repercutir na adesão ao tratamento e sobrevida dos pacientes. Aponta-se para a necessidade de melhor gerenciamento e controle social.
