Utilização de dados pluviométricos para o desenvolvimento de equações IDF da região metropolitana de Fortaleza-CE, Brasil Use of pluviometric data for the development of IDF equations of the metropolitan region of Fortaleza-CE, Brazil Resumo A compreensão das características das chuvas intensas é fundamental para o dimensionamento de estruturas hidráulicas e o gerenciamento dos recursos hídricos. As equações que relacionam a intensidade, duração e frequência dessas chuvas (Equações IDF) são ferramentas importantes utilizadas na determinação da vazão de projeto. Devido à escassez de pluviógrafos no Brasil, métodos de desagregação da chuva diária medida por pluviômetros foram desenvolvidos como alternativa para geração das equações IDF. Neste trabalho, foi aplicada a metodologia das isozonas, proposta por Torrico (1974), para o desenvolvimento de equações IDF, aplicadas aos 19 municípios da Região Metropolitana de Fortaleza-CE, Brasil. Os resultados foram comparados, para a cidade de Fortaleza, com equações de trabalhos consagradas, baseadas em dados pluviográficos, apresentando ótimos índices de correlação.
