Human beings use horses for various purposes since the beginning of civilization, after removing them from nature for a new way of life, which is not always consistent with their animality. Currently, there are movements for animals to be treated ethically, in which veterinarians are important to ensure that these movements happen, and for that, it is needed a reflective education. The objective of this study to show how philosophy can contribute to veterinary medicine, mainly for the reflection about the animal, the ethics in its use, and the whole society, about issue involving non-human animals.
