Site quality estimation is an important tool in forest management since it is useful for modeling growth and yield for even-aged stands. Data from African mahogany (Khaya ivorensis A. Chev.) Brazilian plantations were used to develop a model to predict dominant height growth, comparing dynamic base-age invariant site index models with the guide curve method (static models). For the evaluation of the candidate models qualitative and quantitative criteria were used. We also verified the stability of the candidate models, preferring a model providing fewer site class changes when predicting site index from different ages. The Lundqvist-Korf function fitted with the guide curve method proved to be effective and accurate for site classification and dominant height predictions of African mahogany stands. The range of observed site index, at a reference age of 15, was between 17 and 33 meters. CURVAS DE CLASSIFICAÇÃO DE SÍTIO PARA PLANTIOS DE MOGNO AFRICANO NO BRASIL RESUMO:A estimativa da qualidade de sítio é uma importante ferramenta para o manejo florestal, uma vez que auxilia na modelagem do crescimento e produção de florestas equiâneas. Dados de plantios brasileiros de mogno africano (Khaya ivorensis A. Chev.) foram utilizados para avaliar modelos de crescimento em altura dominante comparando modelos dinâmicos invariantes com a idade padrão e modelos estáticos (método da curva guia). Para a avaliação dos modelos foram utilizados critérios quantitativos e qualitativos. Também foi verificada a estabilidade dos modelos candidatos, sendo preferido o modelo que resultou em menos mudanças de classes na predição da mesma parcela em diferentes idades. O modelo de Lundqvist-Korf com o método da curva guia se mostrou eficiente, sendo recomendado para a classificação de sítios e para a predição de altura dominante em povoamentos de mogno africano. A amplitude dos índices de sítio, na idade de referência de 15 anos, foi de 17 a 33 metros.

EVOLUÇÃO DAS VARIÁVEIS DENDROMÉTRICAS DA BRACATINGA POR CLASSE DE SÍTIORESUMO: A identificação do ritmo de crescimento das variáveis dendrométricas de espécies florestais com o uso da análise de tronco é rápida, eficiente e de grande importância na tomada de decisões para o manejador florestal. Sendo assim, objetivouse neste trabalho analisar a evolução das curvas de produção, Incremento Médio Anual (IMA) e Incremento Corrente Anual (ICA) da altura, diâmetro, área transversal e volume individual da Bracatinga (Mimosa scabrella), em diferentes classes de sítio, bem como, ajustar modelos matemáticos para expressar a evolução dessas variáveis, ao longo dos anos. A base de dados proveio da análise completa de tronco de 29 árvores, coletadas na região metropolitana de Curitiba, com idades variando de sete a 18 anos, distribuídas em três classes de sítio. Após as medições e processamento básico dos dados, ajustaram-se seis modelos matemáticos conhecidos na literatura, para cada uma das quatro variáveis dendrométricas em análise, independentemente para cada sítio. O melhor modelo foi escolhido com base no coeficiente de determinação ajustado (R² aj ), erro padrão de estimativa em percentagem (S yx %) e análise gráfica de resíduos. Os resultados mostraram que o modelo de Chapman-Richards foi o de melhor ajuste para quase todas as variáveis em análise dentro dos três sítios. Verificou-se, também, que a ordem de culminação do incremento corrente anual seguiu a ordem cronológica esperada, isto é, primeiro a altura, seguida pelo diâmetro, área transversal e, por último, o volume, em todos os sítios. EVOLUTION OF DENDROMETRIC VARIABLES OF Mimosa scabrella BY SITE CLASS ABSTRACT:The identification of the growth rhythm of the dendrometric variables of forest species with the use of stem analysis is quick, efficient and of great importance in the decision making by forest managers. Thus, the objectives of this research were to analyze the annual evolution of the yield curves, Mean Annual Increment (MAI) and Current Annual Increment (CAI) in height, diameter, cross sectional area and volume of individual Mimosa scabrella Benth (Bracatinga) in different site classes, and also, to fit mathematical models to express the evolution of these variables over the years. The database came from complete stem analysis of 29 Mimosa scabrella trees collected in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, with ages ranging from seven to 18 years, distributed in three site classes. After the measurements and basic data processing, six mathematical models were adjusted for each one of the four dendrometric variables, independently for each site. The best model was chosen based on the adjusted coefficient of determination (R²aj), relative standard error of estimate (S yx %) and residual graphic analysis. The results showed that the Chapman-Richards model presented the best fitting for almost all analyzed variables in all three sites. The crude soy and rice lecithin are used in studies of liposome formulation. They have been used as flavor encapsulators, flavor masking, antioxidants, and nutrient protective against degradations in the gastro intestinal tract. This study aimed to show the importance of rice and soy lecithin in its varied uses as liposomes in different areas. The paper indicates the importance of soy and rice lecithin, both crude and purified (phosphatidylcholine) ones, as feasible for the encapsulation of various materials, from medical and pharmaceutical to food ones.
