Correlações entre leitura, consciência fonológica e processamento temporal auditivo

Abstract: Dyslexic children demonstrated poorer results in all tests when compared to their controls. However, there was no definitive evidence that their poor performance on the auditory temporal processing tests was directly related to their phonological awareness skills, or even to their reading skills.

“…In an integrative literature review on FPT and Long Latency Auditory Evoked Potential (19) , concerning its applicability to evaluate temporal ordering, we observed that, of the 29 studied papers, FPT was applied in all studies, but in only six of them, we applied DPT for evaluating the temporal ordering (20)(21)(22)(23)(24)(25) . It is supposed that over 60% of the evaluators apply FPT and less frequently DPT.…”

“…There are also reports in the literature, evidencing that children with dyslexia may present alterations in executive functions, leading to a lower performance in some skills, among them the ability of phonological working memory 13 . Another study reported that dyslexics present alterations of phonological awareness and auditory temporal processing, whose performance may have been interfered by the phonological, cognitive skills and also by phonological working memory fonológica 34 . Such alterations may result from difficulties in RESUMO Objetivo: traçar o perfil dos pacientes com diagnóstico de dislexia quanto ao gênero, recorrência familial para distúrbios da comunicação ou dificuldade escolar, presença de alteração de linguagem oral e quanto à presença de alteração nas habilidades de memória de trabalho fonológica, memó-ria visual e consciência fonológica na primeira avaliação fonoaudiológica, por meio da análise de prontuários de indivíduos.…”

“…Despite the several researches corroborating the temporal processing theory (5)(6)(7)(8)(9) , there are controversies about these findings due to the difficulty in establishing a causal relation between the phonological processing and the auditory temporal processing (10,11) , besides the great individual variation in children's performance for this kind of auditory test (4,12,13) . Furthermore, there is the difficulty to evidence these disorders only by behavioral tests (14) .…”
