Objective: to analyze the attitudes, knowledge and skills that make up the professional competencies of nurses working in indigenous territories. Method: this is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted with nurses working in the Xingu Indigenous Park in 2016. Data were obtained in semi-structured interviews and treated according to the thematic-categorical analysis method. Results: the nurse’s performance in the Xingu Indigenous Park has a multifaceted character, being defined by the territory’s interculturality and specificities and by how the service is organized. Technical skills, concepts from anthropology and attitudes that facilitate a respectful dialogue with cultural difference are required for a professional to act in this context. Final considerations: the performance of health professionals in indigenous territories requires specificities associated with the acquisition of new knowledge, attitudes and skills geared to the intercultural dimension of the work developed.

Experiences Of Moral Distress In Nurses’ Daily Work

Background: Moral distress in the work of nurses has been an emerging ethical problem in the different levels of complexity in the Brazilian scenario. Objective: raise the situations perceived by nurses working in different health services across the country, as generators of moral distress.Methods: This is a descriptive study of quantitative approach, of survey type. The study was developed with 771 nurses that working in health services of different levels of complexity in the Brazilian scenario. The data were collected in open instrument, they were asked to identify work situations triggering potential mental distress/suffering. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS statistical software and later organized in tables at the 2010 version of Excel®. Findings:In the survey, were cited 2304 situations of Moral Distress.The situations involve Working Conditions; Professional Relations; Professional Competence; Quality of Care; Access; Labor Organization and Conflict. Conclusions: it becomes important to reflect on the role of the nurse and the development of an ethical and autonomous practice in their daily tasks, given that moral distress deprived nurses from their roles.

Objetivo: compreender como os enfermeiros entendem a aplicabilidade das diretivas antecipadas de vontade no cuidado em final de vida. Metodologia: pesquisa qualitativa, descritiva e exploratória, realizada com oito enfermeiros de um hospital universitário do Sul do Brasil, em dezembro de 2014, a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas, submetidas à análise textual discursiva. Resultados: emergiram três categorias: conflitos na assistência ao doente em fase final; vantagens e dificuldades à aplicabilidade das diretivas antecipadas de vontade; benefícios na aplicabilidade das diretivas antecipadas de vontade pela enfermagem. Conclusão: as diretivas antecipadas estão relacionadas ao respeito da autonomia pessoal, entretanto uma prática cercada por medos e receios ao seu cumprimento.Descritores: Ética em Enfermagem, Diretivas Antecipadas, Autonomia Pessoal.CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING THE NURSE’S ACTIVITIES IN THE APPLICABILITY OF THE ANTECIPATED INTENTION DIRECTIVEObjective: to understand how nurses understand the applicability of early intension directives in the care of the last phases of life. Results: three categories emerged: conflicts in patient care in the final phase; Advantages and difficulties in the applicability of antecipated directives of intention; Benefits in the applicability of the antecipated intension directives by the nursing.
