Show more

“…The standard error of estimate varied between 15.23 and 30.57%. Similar results were reported for the Chapman-Richards model in our study, which ranged from 0.47 to 0.79 for the coefficient of determination, and from 24.99 to 52.80% for the standard error of the estimate TONINI et al (2003). used the Chapman-Richards model to describe the initial (nine years) growth of six Amazon Forest species, obtaining coefficient of determination values ranging from 0.63 to 0.79.…”

“…In Brazil, it can be found in the states of Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Santa Catarina (SC), Paraná (PR), São Paulo (SP), Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), Minas Gerais (MG), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), and Espirito Santo (ES) (Lorenzi 2002;Carvalho et al 2006). In RS, the species is widely distributed in native forests (Tonini et al 2003), participating in the composition of the Dense Ombrophilous Forest, Mixed Ombrophilous Forest, Seasonal Deciduous Forest and Seasonal Semideciduous Forest (Marchiori 1997). The various biological activities described to essential oil (EO) of N. megapotamica and/ or its components have aroused interest of Latin American researchers working in the area of its occurrence.…”

“…However, it is clear that the lower average growth values were obtained at 12 months, mainly for the variables root collar diameters and total heights. Note that reducing the rate of growth has strong relationship with the period of the lowest temperatures of the year, which certainly hampered the development of the species at this stage (KRAMER, 1986;TONINI;SCHNEIDER, 2003). Where in: dc = root collar diameter; CV (%) = coefficient of variation; ht = total height; sc = crown projection area; vc = canopy volume; N = number of individuals.…”
