ABSTRACT -This study aimed to assess the health profile of lactating goats in the Northern Region of Bahia. Thirteen properties were inspected in the municipalities of Andorinha, Itiúba, Senhor of Bonfim and Monte Santo. Samples of 102 goats obtained in the extensive and semi -extensive, goat milk samples 204, and the other half containing penicillin antibiotic without being stored for isolation of Mycoplasma spp and bacteria present in the milk and 102 serum samples were collected blood laboratory tests for caprine arthritis encephalitis virus, Leptospira spp and Brucella abortus. A survey of Mycoplasma spp was performed through cultivation on modified Hayflick. For isolation of bacteria in the samples, the milk was streaked on sheep blood agar culture. For antibodies to lentivirus was through the technique of Agar gel immunodiffusion test for antibody screening technique for micro -agglutination plates for diagnosis of Leptospira spp in blood serum samples was performed. And buffered acidified antigen test for the identification of Brucella abortus antibodies in the sera studied. There was no growth of Mycoplasma spp. in the samples analyzed. The study by other agents grew at 8,33 % of the samples, 70,5 % of these were stored in tubes without antibiotics and 29.5 % in tubes containing antibiotic. The identified bacteria, 47,05 % were Staphylococcus spp , 35,3 % Micrococcus spp. , 11,85 % Corynebacterium spp. and 5,7 % was not identified. All samples were negative for CAEV, leptospirosis and brucellosis. These results prove that the region has not mycoplasmosis and milks analyzed showed good sanitary status.
