Anastomoses arteriais: passado, presente e futuro

“…The total intensity I maps very well resemble the emission structures visible in surveys at longer wavelengths with similar angular resolution, e.g. the Effelsberg surveys at λ21 cm (Kallas & Reich 1980;Reich et al 1997) and at λ11 cm ). The λ6 cm polarization data, however, show rather different structures compared to partly available Effelsberg λ21 cm survey data (Uyanıker et al 1999;Reich et al 2004) and are therefore of particular interest, so that we focus on them in the following.…”

“…They were already investigated in some detail by Green (1989) using DRAO Synthesis Telescope data at 408 MHz and discussed together with infrared and H i maps. Green (1989) found that the elongated H ii region LBN 679 coincides with a large H i spur located in the Perseus arm and pointed out that it is a thermal rather than a non-thermal feature as suggested by Kallas (1983). Karr & Martin (2003) studied all three H ii regions with 1 resolution using CGPS data at 1.4 GHz (Taylor et al 2003).…”

“…[1][2][3] In the majority of cases, surgery novices' first training in this skill is given in human beings, which can result in harm to patients and increased hospital expenses because of increased length of stay and additional procedures. 2,4,5 With the objective of reducing this harm, there has been increasing use of simulators in medical education, because they enable training at any time, reduce the risk to patients, allow the level of difficulty to be controlled, and allow training to be conducted at successively higher skill levels. 3,6 Therefore, preliminary training with simulators should be a basic step in the education of future surgeons.…”

“…3,6 Therefore, preliminary training with simulators should be a basic step in the education of future surgeons. 2,3,6 However, the elevated costs of the simulators currently available on the market have restricted this type of training to large centers. There is therefore a need to identify alternative models that are less expensive, that can reproduce the skill acquisition offered by current systems, that avoid unnecessary use of animals in experiments, and that respect current ethical principles.…”
