Sinopse das espécies de Tityus do Nordeste do Brasil, com a redescrição da T. neglectus Mello-Leitão (Scorpiones, Burthidae)

Abstract

RESUMO. Tityus neglectus Mello-Leitão , 1932, originalmente descrito de uma fêmea coletada no Rio Grande do Norte (Brasil) é redescrito . O tipo , no Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (Rio de Janeiro) está perdido ; um macho da coleção de escorpiões do Instituto Butantan (São Paulo ) é proposto como ·neótipo . Fornece-se uma sinopse das demais espécies conhecidas de Tityus do Nordeste do Brasil , e uma chave para a identificação das esp écies .ABSTRACT . Tityus neglectus Mello -Leitão, 1932 , origina lIy described from a female specimen collected in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (Brazil) is redescribed . The type-specimen , deposited in the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (Rio de Janeiro) is lost; a male of the Instituto Butantan (São Paulo ) scorpion colle ction is proposed as the neotype . A synopsis of the known species of Tityus from the northeastern part of Br azil is added, as well as a key for the identification of those species . INTRODUÇÃOTityus neglectus foi descrita por Mello-Leitão (1932), baseada numa fêmea do Rio Grande do Norte (sem indicação da localidade) . Posteriormente, foi citada por Mello-Leitão (1939) e o exemplar-tipo redescrito pelo mesmo autor (1945) . Bü-cherl (1960)
