Fluazifop-P-Butyl Efficacy as a Function of Application Time and Herbicide Dose

Abstract: -Grass weeds are common in summer crops and strongly decreases the grain yield of the common bean crop. The time of herbicide application influences the variability of environmental conditions and affects the product performance. The objectives of this work were to identify the time of fluazifop-p-butyl (fluazifop) application which gives best grass weed control in the common bean crop and to elucidate the environmental variables most important for the efficacy of this herbicide. Field experiments were conduct… Show more

“…Better control levels of clomazone+amethrin, sulfentrazone and tebuthiuron on different weeds was observed on plants under favorable growing conditions (Souza et al 2014). Similar results were observed for glyphosate and different ACCase inhibitor herbicides (Ramsey et al 2005;Mohr et al 2007;Cieslik et al 2013Cieslik et al , 2014Cieslik et al , 2017.…”

“…Fluazifop-P-butyl is a strong inhibitor of the enzyme acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase) in which it precludes the synthesis of malonyl-CoA (committed step of fatty acid in plants), thus controlling the grass weeds. It is appropriate to combine it with post.em herbicides to control broad-leaf weeds (Cieslik et al, 2017). In Serbia, pre.em herbicides (flurochloridone and napropamide) and post.…”
