Alocação de recursos (carboidratos) no desenvolvimento inicial de plântulas de Schizolobium parahyba (Vell.) S.F. Blake (Fabaceae - Caesalpinioideae)

As s… Show more

“…S.F. Blake (Weidlich et al, 2010). It is worth emphasizing that the source (leaf): drain (flowers) ratio may be altered by an increase or reduction in source strength (photosynthetic rate) or drain strength (assimilate requirement), which interferes with the balance between the growth of vegetative and generative compartments in the plant (Duarte et al, 2010).…”

“…According to Coradin et al (2011), S. parahyba is a pioneer, heliophile species, and is undemanding in edaphic conditions. Weidlich et al (2010) evaluated the allocation of resources in the initial development of S. parahyba seedlings and found high levels of soluble sugars allocated to epicotyls, which are necessary to enable the fast growth of S. parahyba as a pioneer species. These characteristics may explain, at least partially, its advantage in relation to the other species.…”
