Purpose: to analyze the work process of the Family Health teams in the municipality of Caxias do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. Methods: this is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research conducted in four Family Health Strategy (FHS) units, with the participation of 22 health professionals. The data were collected through a semi-structured interview and analyzed through the theme content analysis, aided by the Atlas.ti software. Results: the results were organized in three categories: (1) Roles, reality and idealization of working in the FHS, in which health prevention and curative practices appeared as the focus of the work process; (2) Elements of working in the FHS, which dealt with the purpose of the work connected to health prevention, related instruments, hard technologies and work object, in relation to professional specificities; and (3) Challenges and perspectives of working in the FHS, which emphasizes the fragilities, due to the shortage of professionals and the need for managerial improvement, as well as commitment and teamwork as potentialities. Conclusion: in the work process in health, the preventive professional actions with curative focus were predominant. The challenges were centered on redirecting the work process toward the Family Health approach.

As transformações da prática médica nos últimos anos - sobretudo com a incorporação de novas tecnologias da informação - apontam a necessidade de ampliar as discussões sobre o processo ensino-aprendizagem na educação médica. A utilização de novas tecnologias computacionais no ensino médico tem demonstrado inúmeras vantagens no processo de aquisição de habilidades para a identificação e a resolução de problemas, o que estimula a criatividade, o senso crítico, a curiosidade e o espírito científico. Nesse contexto, ganham destaque as Redes Neurais Artificiais (RNA) - sistemas computacionais cuja estrutura matemática é inspirada no funcionamento do cérebro humano -, as quais têm sido úteis no processo ensino-aprendizagem e na avaliação de estudantes de Medicina. Com base nessas ponderações, o escopo da presente comunicação é revisar aspectos da aplicação das RNA na educação médica.

Resumo Este artigo tem como objetivo conhecer a perspectiva de médicos sobre a saúde e o trabalho em uma unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal de um hospital público do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Para tal, realizou-se pesquisa de cunho qualitativo e de caráter exploratório. Foram realizadas 13 entrevistas individuais e semiestruturadas, com roteiro de perguntas abertas. No que tange à análise dos materiais, adotou-sea técnica de análise do discurso, sendo identificados quatro eixos empíricos de discussão, a saber: elementos da atual configuração do trabalho médico; o trabalho na UTI neonatal; a saúde dos médicos e a prática de automedicação e a necessidade de espaços de diálogo; gênero no trabalho médico e na pediatria. Ao fim, verificou-se que as transformações técnicas e organizacionais do trabalho médico vêm se acelerando e gerando significativas consequências para a vida e a saúde desses trabalhadores. Constatou-se, ainda, preponderância da ausência de vínculos trabalhistas estáveis e precedência de escolha pela atividade de plantões devido às atuais condições salariais, gerandomaior carga de trabalho. Conclui-sepela necessidade de uma política de valorização profissional abrangente que inclua mudanças na organização laboral a partir dos locais de trabalho com a participação dos trabalhadores.
