Saponinas antifúngicas de Swartzia langsdorffii

Abstract: Recebido em 8/2/08; aceito em 2/4/08; publicado na web em 29/4/08 ANTIFUNGAL SAPONINS FROM Swartzia langsdorffii. Chromatographic fractionation of the EtOH extract from the leaves of Swartzia langsdorffii afforded the pentacyclic triterpenes oleanolic acid and lupeol, and two saponins: oleanolic acid 3-sophoroside and the new ester 3-O-β-D-(6'-methyl)-glucopyranosyl-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-oleanate. Their structures were elucidated from spectral data, including 2D NMR and HRESIMS experiments. Antifungal activi… Show more

“…Amphotericin B and Chloramphenicol (Sigma Chemical Co.) were used as the reference antimycotic and antibacterial controls, respectively, on the basis of their use as reference antimicrobial compounds in bioassays with crude medicinal plant extracts (2, 7, 14, 17, 20, 25). …”

“…Such changes in secondary metabolism induce the production of defense substances as responses to changes in the plant habitat (SALISBURY;. In this way, Marqui et al (2008) reported the saponin triterpene action against human pathogens and against phytopathogenic fungi Cladosporium cladosporioides and C. sphaerospermum.…”

“…It has been reported that its extract contains isoflavonoids, which might be responsible for the observed activity. [28][29][30] The DPPH test is easy to perform, reliable and reproducible, for this reason has been widely used in the analysis of antioxidant activities, both in EPR spectroscopy and in the bleaching technique, which measures the optical absorption intensity at 515-517 nm. The fact that the DPPH EPR spectrum has a relatively simple signal due only to the free radical is an advantage in relation to the optical spectroscopy.…”
