Potencial alelopático de catequinas de Tachigali myrmecophyla (leguminosae)

Abstract: Recebido em 10/11/06; aceito em 20/9/07; publicado na web em 10/3/08 ALLELOPATHIC POTENTIAL OF CATECHINS OF THE Tachigali myrmecophyla (Leguminosae). Two compounds, (+)-catechin and epicatechin, were isolated from leaves of T. myrmecophyla, using chromatographic techniques. The structural identification was carried out on the basis of 1 H and 13 C NMR spectral data and comparison with literature data. The compounds (+)-catechin and epicatechin were submitted to germination inhibition and radicle and hypocotyl … Show more

“…Estudo desenvolvido por Lobo et al (2008) mostra que, para se promoverem inibições da ordem de 33% pelo aleloquímico catequina, foi necessário concentração de 20 mg L -1 , e para o alongamento da radícula, de 5,0 mg L -1 , para as mesmas espécies receptoras.…”

“…Phenols are substances used in disinfectants, since they cause inactivation of the enzyme system and loss of essential metabolites through the cell wall, with a spectrum of bactericidal, fungicidal, viricidal and tuberculocidal action (GOVERNO DO ESTADO DA BAHIA, 2001). Catechins and steroids are considered to be potent allelopathic agents (RODRIGUES et al, 2009;LÔBO et al, 2008), i.e., they produce secondary metabolites that may alter the growth and/or development of other biological systems. Triterpenes and alkaloids have been reported to have larvicidal and ovicidal effects on insects (MACIEL et al, 2006).…”

“…19 Therefore, many studies are being carried out with organic solvents to extract pure bioactive compounds or for their homogeneization. 20,21 These in vitro assays are considered a first investigation approach of the allelophathic potential, following by tests in field or semi-field conditions, by using different types of formulations. 22 Among the widely accepted methods to test allelophathy reported in the literature, there are those on lettuce (Lactuca sativa) seeds since they are characterized by homogeneous germination and, are easy to manipulate.…”
