Produção de hidrogênio a partir da reforma a vapor de etanol utilizando catalisadores Cu/Ni/gama-Al2o3

Abstract: catalysts were prepared by an impregnation method with 2.5 or 5% wt of copper and 5 or 15% wt of nickel and applied in ethanol steam reforming. The catalysts were characterized by atomic absorption spectrophotometry, X-ray diffraction, temperature programmed reduction with hydrogen and nitrogen adsorption. The samples showed low crystallinity, with the presence of CuO and NiO, both as crystallites and in dispersed phase, as well as of NiO-Al 2 O 3 . The catalytic tests carried out at 400 o C, with a 3:1 water/… Show more

“…One of the observed changes is in relation to the inversion in the intensities of the first and second peaks in relation to the sample that did not contain strontium. Similar results were reported in [26]. For the samples L7S3NA and L3S7NA, the maxima at 356 and 372 °C were attributed to several simultaneous steps, such as the reduction of Ni 3+ to Ni 2+ from the perovskite structure with formation of La 2 Ni 2 O 5 phase (Eq.…”

“…Essa diminuição na temperatura de redução das espécies óxidas de níquel pode estar associada a um efeito de "spillover" de H + gerado sobre a superfície do cobre já reduzido. O efeito "spillover" do hidrogênio consiste na adsorção e dissociação do hidrogênio na superfície de um metal formando átomos de hidrogênio [10]. Esses átomos migram para superfícies adjacentes ao metal e podem deslocar a redução para menores temperaturas.…”

“…Production of ethanol from lignocellulosic materials increases the supply of ethanol and enables the generation of many co-products, such as ethanol vapor in hydrogen production to obtain fuel cells [102,103], ethylene production, ethylene glycol, acetaldehyde, acetate, ethyl acetate, glycols, acrylates, ethyl chloride, butane, propylene and butadiene [99] and the production of ethane resulting from the dehydration of ethanol, precursor of wide range of products such as polyethylene, polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). In Brazil, the production of these co-products from ethanol is due the expanding ethanol production in the country [104].…”
