The objective of this work was to perform the morphological and physicochemical characterization of ‘BRS Rubra Cara’ cultivar aiming at identifying characters with potential for use in ornamentation. The work was carried out from May to December 2018 in the post-harvest laboratory of the Federal University of Pelotas-RS and in the experimental orchard of “Embrapa Mandioca e Fruticultura”, Cruz das Almas-BA. The experimental design was completely randomized, using 10 adult leaves, 10 fully open flowers, 10 ripe fruits and 10 adult plants. Thirty-eight morphological characteristics of leaves, flowers, fruits and plants were evaluated, as well as physicochemical pH, acidity and soluble solids evaluations performed in triplicate. The results show great versatility for use of the ‘BRS Rubra Cara’ cultivar in the various niches of the ornamental plants market, with emphasis on its use in landscaping and pots.

This research studied the morphology of seeds and seedlings, in addition to obtaining information about the type and time of germination of sweet lemon seeds in five substrates (on blotting paper, between blotting paper, on washed sterilized sand, between washed sterilized sand and in paper roll). C. limetta seeds were measured, and external description was performed. Afterwards, sown in the sand and kept at 25 ºC to monitoring germination and morphological description of the resulting seedlings. A second experiment was evaluated for substrate efficiency: paper roll, on and between paper, on and between sand in the germination of C. limetta seeds. Speed index, average time and relative frequency of germination were evaluated. In addition, date of the first and last germination count was established. Treatment averages were compared using the Tukey test at 5% probability. C. limetta seeds are ovoid, slightly wrinkled and polyembryonic. Germination is hypogeal, cryptocotylar or phanerocotylar. The seedlings have leathery eophylls with simple leaves, elliptical shape or close to the elliptical, tending to ovate. It has a pivoting root system that is colored yellow to cream with the presence of secondary roots. The average germination time is between 18 and 22 days. The substrate indicated for seed germination is on paper.

RESUMO -Os fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA) promovem maior desenvolvimento de plantas, entretanto, a simbiose depende das espécies de ambos os simbiontes. Objetivou-se avaliar a interação entre porta-enxertos cítricos inoculados com espécies de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares. Testou-se três porta-enxertos citrangeiro 'Fepagro C37 Reck' [Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf. x Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck.], cunquateiro 'Hong-Kong' (Fortunella hindsii Swingle) e 'Trifoliata' (Poncirus trifoliata) inoculados com duas espécies de FMA (Glomus etunicatum W.N. Becker & Gerd. e Acaulospora sp.) e um tratamento não inoculado. Avaliou-se a altura (cm), o diâmetro do caule (mm), a área foliar (cm²/planta), o número de folhas, a massa fresca e seca da raiz e da parte aérea (g), o teor de reservas nos tecidos e a colonização dos FMA nas raízes. As espécies G. etunicatum e Acaulospora sp. colonizaram as raízes dos porta-enxertos, mas somente foram efi cientes para o 'Fepagro C37 Reck'. Poncirus trifoliata apresentou maior vigor em ausência de FMA. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) support plant development, however, symbiosis depends on species of both symbionts. This study aimed to evaluate the interaction between rootstock citrus inoculated with species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Three rootstocks citrange 'Fepagro C37 Reck' [Poncirus trifoliata (L.) Raf. x Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck.], 'Hong-Kong' kumquat (Fortunella hindsii Swingle) and 'Trifoliata' (Poncirus trifoliate) were tested, inoculated with two species of AMF (Glomus etunicatum W.N. Becker & Gerd.and Acaulospora sp.) and a treatment not inoculated. We evaluated the height (cm), stem diameter (mm), leaf area (cm² / plant), leaf number, fresh and dry root and shoot weight (g), the level of reserves in tissues and the colonization of AMF in the roots. The species G. etunicatum and Acaulospora sp. colonized the roots of rootstocks, but they were only eff ective for 'Fepagro C37 Reck'. Poncirus trifoliata had the highest vigor in the absence of AMF.
