Efeito do bisoprolol sobre a função cardíaca e o exercício em pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca

Abstract: SummaryObjectives: To assess the effects of bisoprolol on exercise capacity and ventricular function in patients with heart failure. Methods: Clinical and hemodynamic variables, ventricular function and remodeling, and ergospirometry of patients with heart failure of different etiologies were evaluated before and after the administration of bisoprolol. Results: Twenty-two patients were analyzed; one patient did not tolerate medication and 14 patients reached the study goal. The group consisted of 9 men and 5 wom… Show more

“…Bisoprolol is a selective β1-adrenoceptor blocker ( Brixius et al, 2001 ) and has been used to improve exercise capacity in heart failure ( Issa et al, 2007 ; Dubach et al, 2002 ). In another clinical study on heart failure, bisoprolol reduced heart rate and increased the heart rate variability parameter ( Pousset et al, 1996 ).…”

“…Recommendations of Guidelines for Treatment of Heart Failure due to Chagas´heart disease in general is similar to other etiologies, but with low degree of evidences [76, 77]. There is no evidence for specific agent treatment for chagasic heart failure [78].…”

“…Nascimento et al20 find that the midazolan was associated with a greater sedative and cardiovascular effect than diazepam in patients undergoing hemodynamic studies for suspected coronary artery disease. Issa et al21 found that bisoprolol was found to be safe and well tolerated in patients with heart failure, improved symptoms, hemodynamic variables, as well as the cardiac function for all etiologies of heart failure, but did not result in improved exercise capacity. Azevedo et al22 described cardiac and metabolic characteristics of long distance runners.…”
