Nurses working in oncology require continuing education and nowadays distance education is a possibility. To compare learning outcomes of the professionals participating in classroom learning versus distance learning; describing the sociodemographic characteristics and digital fluency of participants; comparing learning outcomes with independent variables; assessing the adequacy of educational practices in Virtual Environment Moodle Learning through the constructivist online learning environment survey. An experimental, randomized controlled study; conducted at the A C Camargo Cancer Center, located in São Paulo, SP, Brazil. The study included 97 nurses, with average training of 1 to 2 years. A control group (n = 44) had face to face training and the experiment group (n = 53) had training by distance learning, both with identical program content. The dependent variable was the result of learning, measured by applying a pre-assessment questionnaire and post-intervention for both groups. The sociodemographic and digital fluency data were uniform among the groups. The performance of both groups was statistically significant (p 0.005), and the control group had a greater advantage (40.4 %). Distance education has proven to be an effective alternative for training nurses, especially when they have more complex knowledge, more experience in the area and institutional time. Distance Education may be a possibility for the training of nurses for work in oncology. The association of age, training time and the institution, and the experience in Oncology interfered in the performance of both groups.

RESUMENEl trabajo relata la experiencia de mujeres que tuvieron cáncer de mama y fueron sometidas a mastectomía, recibiendo la asistencia de las enfermeras y de sus auxiliares.Los objetivos fueron: identificar las expectativas de las mujeres que se sometieron a la mastectomía en relación al cuidado de la enfermera y cómo estas mujeres percibían la asistencia que les fue prestada.Consiste en una investigación descriptiva, del modelo de estudio de caso, cualitativa, utilizando encuesta directa con nueve mujeres de un grupo de apoyo a mujeres mastectomizadas, en Niterói -RJ -Brasil. Fueron identificadas las expectativas relativas a la enfermera: que deberá tener capacidad y conocimiento técnico, además de comprender el momento vivido por ellas. En cuanto a la actuación de las enfermeras, ellas relataron que éstas aclararon sus dudas y fueron esenciales en el posoperatorio, realizaron procedimientos técnicos y dieron apoyo emocional.Se evidenció que la asistencia de enfermería, tanto relativa a la enfermera como a sus auxiliares, presentó una manera distinta con respecto a la institución. En la especializada, enfermera con función clara y definida; en la general, con función no definida. O presente artigo se propõe a investigar como está a produção de pesquisa em ensino da Enfermagem no que concerne à educação científica, ao ensino específico das disciplinas básicas para Ciências da Saúde, suas estratégias e seus impactos. O método de levantamento de dados foi realizado por meio de pesquisa nas plataformas SciELO e LILACs em língua portuguesa. Os resultados obtidos mostram que mesmo descritores que versam inequivocamente sobre ensino e ciências trazem um grande volume de artigos em sua franca maioria não relacionados com os descritores pesquisados, e, mesmo refinando-se a busca, os resultados são muito inferiores em volume em relação a outros tipos de produção em ensino da enfermagem. Os resultados sugerem a existência de um grande potencial de expansão na produção científica de pesquisa em ensino da Enfermagem nas áreas de Ciências Básicas da Saúde no Brasil.Palavras-chave: educação em enfermagem; ciências da saúde; ensino; enfermagem em saúde pública. ABSTRACTThis article aims to investigate what has been produced on research in Nursing education regarding to science education, teaching of specific disciplines on Health Sciences, their strategies and impact. The method of data collection was conducted through search in the platforms SciELO and LILACs only in Portuguese. The results show that even descriptors that deal squarely on education and science bring a large volume of articles unrelated to the search keywords, and even refining it the results are much lower in volume compared to other types of production in nursing education. The results suggest the existence of a large potential for expansion in the production of scientific research in Nursing education in the areas of Basic Sciences of Health in Brazil.
