An aid to the identification of the South American species of Amphisbaena (Squamata, Amphisbaenidae)

Abstract: A matrix of meristic characters is presented to orient the identification of South American Amphisbaena. Complementarily is given a checklist containing the citation of the original description, the type locality, identified, and a citation of a modern description useful to the identification.
