Estrutura e Conservação de um Trecho de Floresta Estacional em Piraí, RJ

Abstract: RESUMO Structure and Conservation of a Stretch of Seasonal Forest in Pirai-RJ ABSTRACTThis study aimed the floristic and structural characterization of a stretch of seasonal forest in the Municipality of Pirai, State of Rio de Janeiro, in order to determine its successional stage. The Parque Municipal da Mata do Amador has an area of 16.4 ha (22º37'S and 43º53'W), where 15 plots of 10 × 10 meters were installed. Plants with DAP ≥ 5cm were measured, which totalized 176 specimens, encompassing 24 families, 46 ge… Show more

“…Mata Santa Elisa was subject to disturbance factors, including fires, which could have decharacterized its vegetation. Fabaceae, which was the richest and had the second highest IVI, is cited as one of the most important in terms of number of species in other states in the southeast (Bernacci et al, 2006;Medeiros et al, 2016;Pennington et al, 2009). The other families that have been highlighted by their number of species (Meliaceae, Rutaceae, Lauraceae, Euphorbiaceae, Myrtaceae and Malvaceae) or their IVIs (Euphorbiaceae, Lecythidaceae, Malvaceae and Meliaceae) are frequently observed in inventories of semi-deciduous seasonal forest (Oliveira-Filho & Fontes, 2000).…”

“…They also provide knowledge on species richness and diversity (Felfili et al, 2011). In spite of their applications, most of the phytosociological studies in the region are merely descriptive (Carvalho et al, 2007;Cysneiros et al, 2015;Dan et al, 2010;Ivanauskas et al, 1999;Ivanauskas et al, 2000;Medeiros et al, 2016). Therefore, the influence of environmental variables on the dynamics of ecosystems should be further discussed, especially about the structure and floristic composition of Semideciduous Seasonal Forest arboreal communities.…”
