Effect of PANI on Thermal, Mechanical and Electromagnetic Properties of HDPE/LLDPE/PANI Composites

Abstract: In this work, polyaniline (PANI) in emeraldine-base form, synthesized by chemical oxidation polymerization, was protonated with hydrochloric acid (HCl). Composites based on high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and linear-low density polyethylene (LLDPE) blends with PANI were prepared in molten condition using a torque rheometer. The effect of compatibilizer agent (maleic anhydridegrafted high density polyethylene, HDPE-g-MA) and different contents of PANI on the blends-based composites was also investigated. Therm… Show more

“…Recently, the research work showed that the incorporation of compatiblizer, that is, maleic anhydride-grafted HDPE in the HDPE/LLDPE/PANI blend enhanced the homogeneity and the dispersion of PANI in compounds as well as the interaction between matrix and PANI, thereby increasing the stiffness of the compounds which in turn to the decrement in electric permittivity. 22 If the miscibility between the PANI and the polymeric matrix is well-controlled, this mixture has potential technological applications such as sensor and electronic devices. 22 In this study, a new and easy approach of processing the PANI with the conventional polymers was developed.…”

The LNR was used as a carrier and compatibilizer in NR/LLDPE/PANI in order to improve the compound miscibility.…”

“…During the immersion process in undoped PANI, the fabric turned a blue color (Figure 1B). This blue-colored PANI portrays the deprotonated state (emeraldine base), which is considered a non-conductive state [29][30][31]. Meanwhile, as shown in Figure 1C, immersion in PANI doped with pTSA produced green fabric.…”
