Multivariate Analysis of Peanut Mechanized Harvesting

Abstract: The peanuts harvesting mechanization is affected by the soil physical characteristics and it may increase the losses due to the production of pods in subsurface. The objective of the experiment was to identify the clusters through multivariate exploratory approaches from similarity in six soil textures (very clayey, clayey, silty clayey loam, clayey loam, sandy loam and sandy) in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, determining the main agronomic variables that most influenced the clustering division to assist the … Show more

“…The SL (separation losses) were significantly lower (P < 0.05) than the DTL (digging losses) for both densities, with a reduction of 42% for density D1 and 55% for density D2. This result is in line with other studies [7,24], which state that most losses during peanut harvesting occur during the digging operation.…”

“…Furthermore, the SL (separation losses) were significantly lower than the DTL (digging losses) for both densities, with a reduction of 42% for density D 1 and 55% for density D 2 . This result is consistent with other studies [8,22], which assert that most losses during the mechanized harvesting phase of peanuts occur during the digging operation.…”

“…The picking rate was essential for determining the factors influencing the binding force. Orthogonal experiments comprising three factors and three layers were designed to study the picking temperature, mass of the fruit, and the location of the fruit on the branch with the data for mature fruits obtained in 2018 (Voltarelli et al, 2018;Noronha et al, 2018;Zhang et al, 2019a;Du et al, 2019;Feng et al, 2019;Jin et al, 2019). The experimental scheme was presented in Table 1.…”
