Objective: to identify the contributions of nurses in the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: integrative review of the literature, in the databases Scientific Electronic Library Online, Database of Nursing, PubMed Central, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature and Web of Science. Results: nine selected articles from 2,075 retrieved. Main contributions of categorized nurses: Popular health education and home visits as care technologies in Nursing; Permanent education and the interface in exclusive breastfeeding; and Counseling as a supportive strategy. Conclusion: nurses, as members of multi professional teams, play a relevant role in exclusive breastfeeding, contributing to actions that transcend the biological and technical dimension, contemplating the singularity and the lived context of the woman/nursing woman, with promotion of health education activities during the puerperal pregnancy cycle. Descriptors: Breast Feeding; Nursing Care; Maternal and Child Health; Nurse's Role. Objetivo: identificar as contribuições de enfermeiros na promoção do aleitamento materno exclusivo. Métodos: revisão integrativa da literatura, nas bases de dados Scientific Eletronic Library Online, Base de Dados em Enfermagem, PubMed Central, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature e Web of Science. Resultados: nove artigos selecionados de 2.075 recuperados. Principais contribuições de enfermeiros categorizadas: Educação popular em saúde e visita domiciliar como tecnologias do cuidado em Enfermagem; Educação permanente e a interface no aleitamento materno exclusivo; e O aconselhamento como estratégia de apoio. Conclusão: enfermeiros, como membros de equipes multiprofissionais, desempenham papel relevante no aleitamento materno exclusivo, contribuindo com ações que transcendem a dimensão biológica e tecnicista, contemplando a singularidade e o contexto vivido da mulher/nutriz, com promoção de atividades de educação em saúde durante o ciclo gravídico puerperal.

Construction and Validation of an Educational Booklet for Mobile Devices on Breastfeeding

Objective: to validate an educational booklet for use on mobile devices on breastfeeding for family caregivers of newborns and infants. Method: a methodological research conducted from August 2017 to November 2018. Six stages were used to construct the booklet: search for themes based on literature review; theoretical study of the themes; booklet development; booklet validation by expert judges; booklet validation by the target audience; adequacy of educational material. Validation by expert judges took place via email and by the target audience at a rooming-in of a municipal hospital in Rio das Ostras, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Content Validity Index was used for validation. Results: the study obtained as a final result the construction and validation of an educational booklet entitled “Uncomplicating Breastfeeding”. The booklet was considered satisfactory, presenting an overall Content Validity Index among judges of 0.94 and among the target audience, of 0.98. However, all judges suggested improvements in the booklet, being considered and modified for the final version of the material, which will be made available on a link for mobile devices. Conclusion: the constructed educational booklet was validated for content and appearance by judges and the target audience, obtaining satisfactory indexes. It is an educational technology that can be used by health professionals and family caregivers of newborns and infants aiming at promoting breastfeeding and, consequently, reducing early weaning rates.

Introdução: O incentivo ao aleitamento deve ser realizado desde o período de pré-natal, bem como durante a internação na maternidade para minimizar as dificuldades relacionadas ao manejo. Contudo, o desconhecimento dos profissionais de saúde diante do manejo para a orientação e intervenção do aleitamento materno junto às crianças com malformações labiopalatais, favorece ao desmame precoce. Objetivo: analisar o conhecimento dos enfermeiros atuantes no alojamento conjunto diante das práticas do aleitamento materno com recém-nascidos que apresentam lábio leporino e/ou fenda palatina. Métodos: pesquisa descritiva, exploratória, qualitativa, através de entrevista semiestruturada. Foram adotados como critérios de inclusão: ser graduado em enfermagem; trabalhar no alojamento conjunto e estar presente na Unidade, no momento da coleta; a qual as falas foram organizadas a partir da análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Participaram 07 enfermeiras. Quanto ao tempo de formação acadêmica houve uma variação de 8 meses até 31 anos, especializações todas relataram possuir alguma pós-graduação. Mediante e a análise das falas emergiram duas categorias: Aleitamento materno e suas nuances e o Manejo do aleitamento materno pelos enfermeiros em situações especiais. Conclusão: existe grande dificuldade quanto aos cuidados prestados pelos enfermeiros acerca do manejo do aleitamento em crianças com fenda labiopalatais, essa a inexperiência pode ser evidenciada, ainda, no período de formação acadêmica, bem como educação continuada. Torna-se imprescindível a participação dos enfermeiros nessa assistência, como também a preparação teórica e prática, durante a formação acadêmica e no período de atuação profissional.
